| ANTI-SPLASHING TAPE FOR SHIP'S ENGINE ROOM | |

As you are aware of, IMO (International Maritime Organization) have reinforced the rules & regulations for fire protection. According to the 74 SOLAS 94 Amendment Chapter II-2 Regulation 15.2.11, all ships with diesel engines of max. continuous rating 375kW or more are required to apply proper protective measures to prevent the leakage and splashing of flammable oils (fuel oil, lubricating oil, etc.) from FO, LO & other pipings for protection of engine room fires to be caused by leaked flammable oil splashing onto high-temperature surfaces or spots as potential sources of ignition in engine room. This Regulation II-2/15 of the SOLAS 94 Amendment entered into force on July 1, 1998 effective for new shipbuilding, and the ships, which were built before July 1, 1998, are of 500 Gross Tons or over and are engaged in international operation service, shall also comply with the requirements by July 1, 2003. FN Tape and Sheet are the products we've developed and manufactured, which are fully 100% complied with the requirements of the SOLAS 94 Amendment Reg. II-2/15.2.11 and are type-approved by major ship's classification societies worldwide, and FN Tape & Sheet products have been patented in Japan and overseas countries. | MAJOR FEATURES | |
| 1. | FN Tape & Sheet are able to prevent most of engine room fires caused by the splashing of flammable oils, simply by means of binding and wrapping FN Tape &/or Sheet as spray shields around flange connections & mechanical joints in FO, LO & other pipings within 3 to 5m area from potential ignition sources, wherein flammable oils are expected to splash onto hot surfaces or spots. |
| 2. | FN Tape & Sheet will not blaze up even if flames touch on the same
since both its inner & outer surfaces are not of oil-absorbent or penetrative
material. (UL 510FR〈flame retardant〉 approved) |
| 3. | FN Tape & Sheet are composed of high-strength non-combustible aramid
fiber and special aluminum foil, and thus even one single layer of FN Tape
or Sheet applied is capable of sufficiently withstanding the pressure of

| 4. | FN Tape & Sheet are of excellent oil & abrasion-resistance and weatherability, and are immediately usable even after storing unused for a long period. (2 to 3 years). |

| CONSTRUCTION AND SPECIFICATION OF FN TAPE. ●Material construction of Tape; Aluminum foil is superimposed on both sides of incombustible aramid woven cloth to form a laminated structure. A special adhesive agent is applied to the one side of it and then covered with a thinner separator film. On the other side of it, ship classification societies' Logos are printed together with their type-approved numbers to show that FN Tape has been certified by them in respect to having fully complied with SOLAS regulations concerned. |
